Becky is a Bitch!

Has anyone been watching The Agency on MTV? Its a kind of fly on the wall series following the operations in Whilhemina, one of the biggest modelling agencies in New York. Now. I know that modelling is a business and that at the end of the day, the agency is there to make money, but GOOD GOD! They are so bloody rude, particularly British booker Becky Southwick:

I really don't think there is ever any need to be rude to someone. I had a teacher once who told us that the only rule he had was "Respect", and I've always tried to live that way. Everyone deserves it but apparently Miss Southwick doesn't know the meaning of the word.
For example...
“You’ve completely let yourself go! Do you understand this is very serious? I’m going to use the F-word here — you are FAT.” - this to a girl who is TINY. Now, I understand that weight is a career issue when you are a model, but she was not fat and there are more respectful ways of putting things. That girl had barely closed the door when she screamed “She’s a fat cow. I think we should drop her.” And its not just the models, she is rude to her colleagues too. Frankly she's a superbitch, I was delighted to read that after her bosses saw episodes of the show she was fired. Boo ya! In yo' face. Respect people bi-atch.

Oscar time!

Well, the big day has arrived and I for one am very excited. I'm going to stay up to watch E! Live on the Red Carpet but I'm afraid I just don't have the stamina to stay awake for the awards themselves (I'd be up til 5:30am!) - I'll be posting my thoughts on the behaviour on the red carpet as it happens but you'll just have to wait til tomorrow to hear what I make of the awards themselves [today I've mostly been thinking how brilliantly shocking it would be if Abigail Breslin won over Jennifer Hudson...and the more I think about it the more I think it'd be well deserved]. Hopefully there will be some surprises!!

Visiting Day!

Well, Britney has now been in Rehab for almost three days, which at this point seems like a massive achievement-woo hoo! It seems like she has had a whole lot of visitors in those three days, perhaps the most important ones came last night - her chiddlers Sean Preston, 17 months, and Jayden, 5 months. Hopefully this little visit will put things into perspective for Britney and focus her efforts towards getting her life together. Keep at it Britney!

What the?

Captions please!

I give it 6 Months...

...before he's the poster child for domestic violence against men. And I'm being generous.

PS What is with her hair?

Hmm...Happy Hotness Day?

Maybe I should just make this day's posting exclusively about hotness...? Because I just came across these photos of Joshua Jackson and mmmm thats good. Shame about Diane Kruger kind of ruining one of them (although I suppose you straight guys deserve some eye candy too) - girlfriend schmirlfriend. Pah!

Holy Hotness Batman!

Oh I do love me some nice photos of some hot mens. And these new Gap ads do NOT disappoint! [Although I have to say that for some reason Dermot Mulroney's hair that long makes his honker look bigger than usual...i mean, its always big but it doesn't usually take over his face in such a fashion...] I especially like the Chris O'Donnell one, I'm loving that his role in Grey's means he's kind of back, I've loved him since I was about 12 and I have to say I think hes only gotten hotter with time...the Wentworth Miller one is lovely too but he's too pretty for my taste, and those gay rumours could mean I'd be wasting valuable fantasy time anyway! Enjoy!

Lovely Drew

She's done an interview with American magazine Jane in which she talks about her friends (I'm sure Cami D is one of those she speaks of...I love celebrity friendships for some reason):

"Beyond any [romantic] relationship I’ve ever had, my friends are the ones who have been consistent rocks in my life. They make me feel like everything will be okay.”

Aw...I know what you mean Drew! And she looks lovely in those photos, especially the second one.

The OC is Over.

Thats it. The last episode has been shown after only four seasons of the sharp witted show. I for one am very sad. Even when I heard that it had been cancelled I didn't really believe it-I guess I expected Seth and Summer to come up with some kind of plan or for a Chrismukkah miracle. But...no such luck.

I don't know what happened in last night's finale as fortunately I forced myself to wait til this season aired here and have lots more episodes to look forward to, but knowing the end is nigh is saddening enough.

I'll miss you my beloved OC.

Gareth is back.

Gareth who you ask? Why Gareth Gates! Remember him? They guy Simon Cowell swore was going to be a star? No? Nothing? Thats ok...I barely remember him either.

Anyway, his comeback is being much lauded. Apparently, his stammer is gone, he plays football, and he likes a few pints. Get it?? He's just like you and me!

He has spent the past few months writing and recording songs in the studio...wait for it...with a band!

He says: “What happened with my first two albums is that I arrived at the studio, walked into the booth, was told what to sing and left an hour later.

“That was my only input on the records I made. But with this one I’ve had the freedom to be able to play guitar and piano on it. It’s much more about me.”

I always think its really risky when you are a manufactured pop performer to complain about the way you were bossed around for your first album and boast about how your new album is all you. Because even the minimal success of your early stuff is probably not going to be equalled by the "all you" record.

I'm totally willing to eat humble pie on this if it turns out to be great - but...well...I doubt it.

Billie is Crying!

Oh no. I like Billie. How sad. I wonder what she's crying about? Maybe its her well-documented problem with cystitis. Luckily her ex-husband hurried to give her a shoulder to cry on.

What an odd relationship.

Marcia is a mommy to Twins!

Congratulations to Marcia Cross who has given birth to fraternal twin girls named Eden and Savannah in Los Angeles. Yay! I like the names too. I just found out that when Marcia was told to rest they transferred production of Desperate Housewives to her home for a while so that they could wrap up loose ends in Bree's storyline. I love it! I wonder if that means we'll get to see little flashes of Marcia's house in future DH episodes? I have to say MC creeps me out just a tiny bit but I think thats because I struggle to get past her character as Bree and the perfectly polished exterior (the eyebrows! They creep me out). Anyway, congratulations to her and her hubbie.

Construct Your Own Bald Britney Head!

What could be better?

Britney's back in Rehab. Again.

Ok. Britney's back in rehab for a third time, apparently in order to avoid losing her children. I'm not even going to bother with a picture here because no doubt some time in the next 24 hours or so I'll be telling you she has left again. I hope not...but judging by her track record...:(

Apparently:

If Britney leaves rehab before getting full treatment, which is expected to last a minimum of 30 days, Kevin will immediately go to court seeking orders allowing him unquestioned full custody of the children.

Oxegen 2007

Well. Last year I gave Oxegen a miss in favour of Electric Picnic but this year I think I'm just going to have to do both. Loads of amazing bands have been announced so far, here are some of my favourites:

Muse (I am super excited about seeing them live for the first time)
Amy Winehouse
The Fratellis
Tori Amos
Razorlight
Arcade Fire
Bloc Party
The Kooks
Interpol
Daft Punk

And randomly - The Goo Goo Dolls...hmmm. They're not exactly a favourite, but its interesting to see them in this lineup.

So, I guess I'm going to have to recruit some muso friends to spend the weekend with because there is no way I'm going to miss all those amazing gigs!

Gratuitous pictures of Gwen looking great

No real justification except to say those are hella big platforms she's wearing and she looks really friendly in that picture with a fan. I love her. And Kingston is seriously super cute. She has also been talking about her sympathy for Britters and the fact that there is a new No Doubt album coming - HOORAY!

If this is true I am not best pleased.

According to Popbitch:

Kim Cattrall told Graham Norton that reports she'd
signed up to do a Sex And The City film were not true.
(She joked there's no one in New York left for her
character to shag, therefore, no new storyline!)

That STUPID woman. What has she done since SATC?? What has she done thats so great that she can turn this down???????!!!!!?????

Oh yeah. She played a mom in the movie Ice Princess. Brilliant. And she was in The Tiger's Tail, an Irish film so I hate knocking it, but its not exactly stomping up the red carpet to awards ceremonies.

If she stops this from happening I am going to be seriously angry. She's already annoying, but this has the potential to create hatred from me along the lines of my disdain for the Jolie. Boo. Boo I say.

Cuh-razy.

These pictures of Christina Ricci are mental - she's barely recognizable!

She took them for a shoot with Another Magazine - apparently a British publication...I'm feeling really uncool at the moment because I thought I knew all the British publications...I'm a failure. :( Anyway, in the interview she talks about Sundance:

"It used to be a lot of fun, like ten years ago, and now, having seen coverage of it over the past couple of years, it looks kind of weird. Paris Hilton at Sundance? What's she doing there? It's not a nightclub! These people break the first rule, you just don't got to a festival as an actor if you haven't got a film there! I'll be there for one day and then I'm leaving immediately!"

This is funny because the other day I had to record an interview with Venus actor Leslie Phillips, and before I went in the movie peeps were talking about the success of Irish film "Once" at Sundance. The lady was saying that Once was a really simple film with a real air of authenticity - "which is what Sundance used to be about", then the guy said, "Yeah [scoff], used to be!" ha ha ha... So I guess this is a pretty widely held view. I think though, the true sign of anything becoming really successful is commercialism taking over. Its a sad truth.

Christina Preggers?

Ok. The buzz is that Christina is pregnant. Now, we all know that pregnancy rumours aren't the most reliable but I feel it is my responsibility to report this anyway.

According to the New York Daily News:

An employee of Beverly Hills kids' boutique Bellini tells us the singer was twittering about a new pregnancy when she stopped in for a $3,000 shopping spree Saturday.

"She came in with her husband [Jordan Bratman], and he sat in one of the big chairs and let her do her shopping," a clerk told us yesterday. "They said they don't know what they're having."

"They seemed really excited. She was talking to [another customer] and she said she took a home pregnancy test and that it was positive. She kept saying they'd have to come back when they knew the sex of the baby," the worker told us.

Now Christina's people are saying this is a whole pile of shizzle, that she was actually on her way to Vegas to perform at the NBA all stars event at the time. However...the staffer who is giving all these deets to the media maintains she spoke to Xtina personally. Hmm...puzzling.

Britney has Emergency Custody Hearing.

Things have gotten so dire, that according to the Associated Press, K-Fed has been granted an emergency custody hearing today:

Federline, 28, and his attorney, Mark Vincent Kaplan, are scheduled to appear at a downtown Los Angeles courthouse Thursday for an emergency hearing in family law court, Superior Court spokesman Allan Parachini told the AP.

It was not known what issue Federline plans to raise, but Spears, 25, is not expected to appear. "Our best information is he will be here; she won't," Parachini said. "But anything is possible."

This does not look good at all. The National Enquirer is also reporting that Brit has attempted suicide twice over the past couple of days, once through an OD of Xanax and once by walking into traffic. I don't know how much more of this I can write about because its actually become depressing to think about.
